Project Description

Mentor Identified [Dr. Alfredo Lopez-Yunez]

Evidence from research proves the therapeutic use of music to improve sleep quality measured by self-reported questionnaires; however, the scientific knowledge of the effects of music, on the general public, using standard polysomnography is insufficient.

The aim for this project is to scientifically observe and study the effects of music in healthy adolescents, objectively and subjectively. By altering the type of music, volume of the music, and tempo of the music we will find the best music to improve sleep in general and whether or not these factors are different in separate age ranges.
