Health & Science Innovations (HSI) has received a $900,000, 4-year grant award from the Indiana Department of Education’s 21st Century Learning Centers to start a new afterschool program, Innovation Boulevard,  at Belzer and Fall Creek Valley Middle Schools. This program is being developed in collaboration with the Metropolitan School District of Lawrence Township. With this support and thanks to our donors, we will be able to continue our commitment to inspiring young minds and unlocking potential through education and innovation.

The 21st Century Community Learning Centers program supports the creation of community learning centers that provide academic enrichment opportunities during non-school hours for children, particularly students who attend high-poverty and low-performing schools. The program goals are 1. Help students meet state and local student standards in core academic subjects, such as reading and math; 2. Offer students a broad array of enrichment activities that can complement their regular academic programs; and 3. Offer literacy and other educational services to the families of participating children.
